During a CBS interview, President Donald Trump stated that drastic measures will be taken against Saudi Arabia if they killed Jamal Khashoggi. The Saudi reporter, US resident & prominent Riyadh critic went missing on 2 October, whilst visiting Istanbul’s Saudi consulate. US defence contractors were rattled by Trump’s statement when he mentioned the blocking of military sales to the Saudi Government, whilst mentioning Boeing, Raytheon & Lockheed.

On a question if Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince ordered the killing of Khashoggi, Trump answered that it is unknown, but that they will find out. Trump stated that he don’t intend losing military sales, as these sales can go to Russia & China who also export military equipment, saying that other means of punishment exist. Turkish sources stated that Khashoggi was killed on purpose inside the consulate, but it was denied by Riyadh.
