Electricity Still ImportsWest Kalimantan , BPH Migas Pushes Availability of Natural Gas

The Governor of West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Sutarmiji said until now his territory still needs imported electricity supplies from Sarawak, Malaysia. This is done because the electricity is not sufficient to meet the required electricity needs.
“Right now, we still buy electricity from Malaysia, then the industry also buys from PLN is expensive, so it is not competitive,” he said when met on the sidelines of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the theme of Synergy Development of the Trans Kalimantan Natural Gas Pipeline at Grand Mahkota Hotel Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Tuesday (3/12/2019).
He hopes that the planned development of a natural gas pipeline in Trans Kalimantan can provide significant benefits to the region, including in illuminating the economy of the surrounding community.
