Darren Sammy, the West Indies all-rounder, will remain Peshawar Zalmi’s captain during the 3rd season of the PSL (Pakistan Super League) during 2018, as reported in Peshawar Zalmi’s press release. Javed Afridi, the team’s owner applauded Sammy and said that he did not just led the team well during matches but away from the pitch too adding that the bonding between the captain and the players resulted in the team winning the PSL title. Sammy led the West Indies to victory in two World T20 championships and guided Peshawar Zalmi to win the PSL last season. Zaheer Abbas, the former batsman, replaced Shahid Afridi, who joined the Karachi Kings as the President of Peshawar Zalmi. Abbas, together with Younis Khan, the team’s mentor and Mohammad Akram, the head coach held a meeting with Javed discussing the upcoming players’ draft strategy which is programmed for Sunday.
