Maryam Nawaz’s statement

Maryam Nawaz addressed reporters outside the court. She stated that they all know that Nawaz Sharif is outside the country, due to the fact that his wife is unwell. She added that Musharraf was able to escape from the hearings as a result of back pain, whilst Nawaz Sharif has an authentic reason. She was questioned about the government’s siding with the Sharif family on which she answered and said the less that is said about the government, the better. Maryam Nawaz and her husband, retired Captain Muhammad Safdar arrived separately at the FJA (Federal Judicial Academy). She is the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, the former PM of Pakistan. The three was indicted by the accountability court on 19 October regarding a reference concerning the Avenfield flats. The NAB registered the reference against them. However, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and retired Captain Safdar pleaded not guilty on the charges brought against them. In the charge sheet of the references, the names of Hussain & Hassan Nawaz appear as co-accused.
